**Leslie and Charlie Dog** {Portraits} {Midland, TX}

Wow. Moving is a challenge...and we haven't even packed a single box yet. My husband and I have been painting for almost a month now. It might be a challenge but we are so grateful to have this challenge in our lives. It has been hard to balance my photography business and the moving process at the same time. I have so many ideas bouncing around in my head but no time to make them a reality. Don't give up on me yet! Keep checking back to see what's new!

In other news my co-worker, boss, supervisor, friend--she has many names in my book-- asked me to take her Christmas pictures this year. We had fun exploring this new location. I think it has become my new favorite spot. I love the colors of the house.
Charlie was such a good dog model! He was pretty distracted most of the time by all the new smells and sights but can you blame him? He is a dog!

Leslie's grandmother died in September so she wanted to incorporate some of her things, like the ring and scarves. I think those pictures turned out beautifully! It means so much to me to be able to capture a memory like that. One day, fifty years from now, someone might be looking at these pictures day dreaming about what the world used to be like...

I met Gracie and her mom through some good friends of mine. She's graduating in May and hopes to attend art school. This girl has a contagious smile and laugh. Not only is she a photographer's dream (because she smiles and laughs on command!) but I'm sure she brightens her friends' lives with her cheerfulness.

We had a blast taking these pictures...and finding beautiful fall trees in the most unexpected places. Thank you Gracie for being a fabulous model. I had a hard time picking my favorites but here they are!

Neil, Holli, Faith & Gracie

These girls have the most precious faces. I love it when siblings look completely different! But both of them have cuteness in common for sure. We tried a new location for some of these pictures. I love the way it turned out...so fun!

Talk about pure joy

Does it get any better than this...?

Oh how I miss the joy of swinging.

A few weeks ago Jonathan and I got the privilege of babysitting three joyful children for 6 days. It was a busy time but it was a blessing to us. We spent a Saturday afternoon playing outside. I grabbed my camera. These are the results.

This one makes me smile really BIG.

"How are you?" His greeting of choice...it'll melt your heart, especially when you haven't seen him in a while.

Even the dog joined in on the fun...

Disclaimer: Sorry for the extreme grainy-ness of these pictures. I was in such a hurry that I forgot to reset my camera settings from my previous photo shoot. It works in some of the pictures...not so much in others ;)

Evie, Nick and Natalie

Evie is one of the sweetest women I know. She really cares for other people. I'm really happy with the pictures I took of her family. I think the kids are glad they got their pictures taken even though I'm sure their mom had to bribe them to go! I think we had a lot of fun that evening :)

This last one is my favorite

The Nolte Session

I love this family! Anyone who meets them has to love them...I don't know how they couldn't. All of these children are blessed to have Jason and Mary as their parents. The parents set the tone for the whole family and this one is full of joy, peace and love. I know that sounds so cliched but I didn't mean for it to! It's just the truth!

28 September 2009

This girl has 10x the amount of confidence I had at 14--I love it! I had so much fun taking her pictures.
Her mom, Mary, said in the middle of the shoot: "This is fun, you must love doing this". Yes, I do!

We actually walked up to my car after the shoot and I had a flat tire! Jason, the dad/husband, was on his way to pick up Mary and Phage so he effortlessly changed my tire when he got there. I always thought getting my first flat tire would be more traumatic but I guess not. This family is full of joy--I loved being around them.
I will soon be taking pictures of the whole family and I can't wait. There's seven of them in all so it will be quite an adventure!

I hope you enjoy my favorites of Phage's shoot--I'm really excited about these.
