Sneak Peek: Bennett **Newborn Portraits**

What sweet, sweet friends Ashley and Caden are to me and my husband. We are so thankful to have them in our lives...and now little bitty Bennett as well! These three have had an eventful last 2 months to say the least. Bennett was born 5 weeks early by c-section. After going to the ER for an entirely different reason they discovered that Ashley had a blood disorder that would harm her and the baby if he stayed inside of her any longer. After he was born he was in the NICU for a couple of weeks before they finally got to take him home. Of course--there's a lot more to the story and it sounds far less complicated in those few sentences! God sovereignly ordained Bennett's birth story and He has also sovereignly provided the grace Ashley and Caden needed to get through it.

Rizzy Rugh

I'd like to introduce everyone (a little late) to my sweet, sweet niece: Miss Rachel Elizabeth Rugh. We call her Rizzy. She melts my heart!

The morning she was born Jonathan and I jumped in the car and drove to Austin. The 5.5 hours seemed SO long when we found out she was in this world waiting to be meet her aunt and uncle :). I got a few shots of her on those first 2 days of her life. A week later I came back to Austin for a good week and got many more precious pictures.

Another thing I treasure about these pictures is seeing how sweetly John and Laura love on their little girl. It was a treat watching how naturally they have fallen into being parents. It's wonderful seeing this whole new side of my brother. I wish I were also a videographer so I could have captured him talking to Rizzy and reading her stories.

Also, do you notice a new "theme" running through all of these pictures? I finally finished my logo! What do you think? Soon (as in a few days hopefully) it will also be on my NEW website. This has all been slow in coming so I'm very excited to finally be using my new logo and updating my website.

Jonathan Fox **Newborns**

I am PARTICULARLY excited to share with you these new photographs. Why, you ask? For those who do not know me this is my brand new nephew, Jonathan Fox. (Not so brand new anymore...he's grown so much since this shoot!).

Not only is he family...he also shares my husband's name. I'll probably be calling him "Fox" to avoid confusion. We were all speechless when his name was revealed (in the hospital-yes, we waited 9 months for a name!).

I love being an aunt to this little guy...and I've loved staring at him even more while editing these photographs.

He is literally brand new in this first photograph.



And a little bit "older"...(11 days maybe?)




The best time to take them is within the first 10 or 14 days of life. It's sad but exciting to see him grow! He doesn't look like this anymore. He's already changing so much. These first pictures are so priceless to have so we won't forget these first days of life.
